Conquering That To-Do List
Get the big things done, fast.
Creating a simple, but effective, to-do list can help you keep track of everything you need to get done. Whether you have a heavy workload, house cleaning, freelance work or planning an upcoming birthday party, a to-do list can help you get it done. But what do you do when you have a to-do list and it seems to be too challenging for you to accomplish? You still have to get all of your work done and now you are even more behind. You need to conquer that to-do list and Nolki is here to help with some useful tips on how you can get your work done more efficiently. Here are out tips on how to conquer that to-do list
Stay one day ahead
Procrastinating is something you want to avoid when trying to get things done. Whether it is work, or creating a shopping list and menu for the week, getting an early start on it is important. Stay at least one day ahead of your to-do list and you will not have to stress over items that did not get done.
Time your tasks
Use the Pomodoro Technique, a method which calls for timing your tasks and taking regular breaks. If your to-do list is large, this technique will help you conquer it more effectively.
Tackle the difficult tasks ASAP
Your to-do list might contain everything from quick errands to time-intensive projects that require serious concentration. Instead of choosing to do the easy tasks first to get more things off of your list, do the hard ones that may take more time or effort. That way, you will be left with easy tasks that can be completed quickly and with minimal effort.
Set realistic deadlines
To-do lists can become overwhelming very quickly for many of us. We tend to add more things to our to-do list than we have time for. Be sure to plot out the to-dos in realistic time blocks on your calendar to figure out whether or not you actually can fit that amount of to-dos into the timeframe you have in mind.
Start with the task that truly needs your attention and list them categorically in terms of most to least important.
After completing a task, reward yourself with a small break or a snack that you have been wanting all day. This will help motivate you.
Step away for a minute
Step away from your work or your computer to give your brain a chance to refocus and re-energise.
